About pekehunds
Developed from crossbreeding the Dachshund and Pekingese, the Pekehund is a devoted, playful, and fearless hybrid. This combination makes for a great family companion as they have a real sense of pack mentality. It is important to properly socialize and train this breed as they can be strong-willed and a little weary of strangers. Pekehunds are often long-bodied with a fluffy coat and expressive eyes. They can also sport a short smooth coat or a soft medium-length coat, but some can even have wirehair due to their Dachshund heritage. Although they are on the smaller side, the Pekehund does require an adequate amount of exercise to stay both mentally and physically stimulated. However, that won’t stop them from wanting to cuddle on your lap for a nice nap.
